Infrastructure & Operations
We are pleased to welcome you to the Infrastructure and Operations department, where we are committed to putting in place the newest IT infrastructure. To ensure smooth operations, we concentrate on cloud-only, zero-trust, one-touch, and zero-footprint solutions. While maintaining the integrity of our high-performance network and systems, our objective is to offer a secure work environment. Be a part of a team that places a high priority on development, security, and success by joining us in our aim to influence the direction of IT.
Delivery
Our strategy is to combine purchased software (such as Microsoft D365) with custom developed applications. This forms the basis of what we call our Q.one-platform, which is an integrated set of applications that are actively being used in different countries across Europe and the world. To deliver all those applications to the business and our customers, mateco IT is organised in tribes that each contain a certain number of Delivery Teams. Those teams are supported/guided by the cloud team, security engineers, solution architects…
Roll-out
Within the roll-out we work towards the final goal, onboarding the customer on our platform. To achieve this goal, we work closely with the business. We investigate what is needed to onboard the customer, we start preparing the platform, train (key)users and make sure everything is in place for the go-live. Next to the business we also work closely with our own IT colleagues. As part of the roll-out team you are the key player in connecting and communicating with all involved. An essential and important role to fulfill with in the end the ultimate gift, a newly onboarded customer.

Lars - Application Security Engineer
I have been with mateco for almost 3 years now, starting as an intern and now working permanently as an Application Security Engineer for the Cloud team. My role is to ensure that our applications cannot be hacked by helping developers to write secure code, and testing our apps for vulnerabilities. I like that I can immediately see the benefits of my work, and that we have a company culture where taking initiatives and taking on extra responsibilities is encouraged. However, you are never left on your own. I closely work together with my team every day and have regular one-to-one meetings with my manager where we determine my growth trajectory together and discuss any challenges I may be facing. The work environment at mateco is agile, and we have an open culture where everything can be discussed with anyone. We also have a flat structure at mateco IT which is something that many companies strive for, but is truly achieved here.
Louis - IT Application Support Analyst
I have been working at mateco since March 2021, first as a student and then on the Local IT team. On the first day I immediately faced a tough challenge, getting 50 smartphones ready for use before the end of the week. After that, colleague Joram trained me further, but I also quickly got to know the other team members: Jonas, Jurgen and Evelien. All of them, in their own way, familiarized me with the tasks of Local IT. Today I help solve daily incidents for employees of mateco and TVH Equipment. This includes preparing laptops and smartphones for new employees, but also providing support for problems with software or hardware on the company devices. Many problems are solved remotely, but sometimes we have to go out and see a problem on site. With great pleasure, of course: this is how we really get to know our colleagues, not just through Teams! In July 2022 I was offered a new opportunity as an IT Application Support Analyst, fulfilling the function of level 2 connectivity support & rollout. Since this was also the content of my internship in 2020 at mateco, I am already somewhat familiar with our CATO & meraki hardware. Now adding to this is the maintenance of the servers that provide authentication on the network; this is a challenging job with long complicated projects but also simple changes. Having studied Software this was not the most obvious choice, but at mateco I am offered the necessary time and platforms to polish my knowledge.
Melanie - Delivery Lead
I started at mateco in June 21, first as a Scrum Master, but now very recently as Delivery Lead. The most important part of my duties consists of people topics, which I can describe as a focus on wellbeing in the workplace, making sure everyone feels good, which is something I like, because it's a task that is close to me as a person. As Delivery Lead I have the ability to focus on a smooth onboarding for example. Within the scope of Q.one, I ensure that the mutual cooperation between the teams runs smoothly. Each team is building its piece of the Q.one project, but there are a lot of dependencies involved. So I facilitate cooperation so that everyone is well attuned to each other. A nice example of how I am definitely not above the people I mentor in this is when I met some people from the Q.Rent team from Germany last week. We conversed in English for 15 minutes, until someone suggested we just continue in Dutch. That was a little embarrassing, but very funny as well.
The Nest
Starting april 2024, The Nest will be our new home, a state-of-the art hub with the newest technology and the best work atmosphere. You can find mateco IT at Mannebeekstraat 4, 8790 Waregem, once again sharing offices with the colleagues at Business (TVH Equipment) for the first time in years!
