We're looking for an IT Security Expert. Are you the one?
First of all, what does an IT Security Expert do at mateco it?
As a key member of our Infrastructure and Operations team, you will play a crucial role in protecting mateco's digital assets and ensuring the security of our information systems. Your responsibilities will include preventing, detecting, analyzing, and responding to cyber threats. Additionally, you will manage business-as-usual operations such as vulnerability remediation, perform offensive testing, provide project assurance, and offer advice on security improvements.

You will monitor, analyze, and respond to cybersecurity incidents, ensuring timely resolution.
You will perform regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify security risks.
You will maintain and enhance the cybersecurity framework, ensuring systems are secure and operational with minimal downtime.
You will contribute to the development and documentation of security policies, processes, and procedures.
You will collaborate with cross-country IT teams to design, implement, and manage cybersecurity systems and tools.
You will stay informed on the latest security trends and ensure mateco remains protected against evolving threats.
Ok. And what exactly would make you the perfect fit for this?
You have at least 3 years of professional experience in an Information Security role.
You possess strong knowledge of cybersecurity principles, risk assessment, and security best practices.
You have hands-on experience with security tools such as intrusion prevention systems, vulnerability assessment tools, and endpoint security solutions.
You are a proactive problem-solver with strong analytical and technical skills.
You are experienced in scripting (e.g., Python, PowerShell) and have a solid understanding of network technologies.
Professional certifications (CISSP, CISM, CEH, etc.) are a plus.
You have the ability to work independently, autonomously and you take initiative
You are very eager to learn
You are a team player
You are fluent in English, Dutch is a plus.
