IT Network Lead

At mateco IT, you own the Connectivity service across all mateco countries: LAN, WLAN, WAN/SD-WAN, internet and firewalls. You lead our internal network engineers and steer the external partner that runs our network operations. This is not a hands-on engineering role. Your strength is bringing people, partners and processes together.

We’re looking for an IT Network Lead. Are you the one?

Are you an experienced IT infrastructure professional who combines people leadership, service ownership and strong partner management?

As our IT Network Lead, you take end-to-end ownership of the Connectivity service across all mateco countries. This includes LAN, WLAN, WAN/SD-WAN, internet connectivity and firewalls. You lead our internal IT Network Engineers and steer the external IT partner responsible for our network operations.

This is not a deep technical engineering role. Your strength lies in bringing people, partners and processes together. You make sure our network services are reliable, measurable, cost-effective and continuously improving.

Good. So what does that mean in detail?

As IT Network Lead, you will:

  • You will lead, coach and develop a small team of IT Network Engineers

  • You will own the service end to end: scope, SLAs, KPIs, reporting and budget

  • You will steer our managed-service partner, chair governance meetings and handle escalations

  • You will drive continuous improvement based on incident and performance data

  • You will coordinate the network hardware lifecycle, new sites and M&A integrations

  • You will work closely with Architecture, Cyber Security, Cloud and Local IT, including on NIS2 and ISO 27001 compliance

Ok. And what exactly would make you the perfect fit for this?

  • You have a bachelor in IT or equivalent experience

  • You have 5–10 years in IT infrastructure or network operations, with at least 2 years in a leading role

  • You have proven people management and coaching experience

  • You have experience in managing an IT partner: SLAs, governance and performance reviews

  • You have a broad network knowledge, enough to challenge specialists and make sound decisions

  • You have ITIL and ServiceNow (or similar) knowledge

  • You are fluent in Dutch and English; French or German is a plus

Still sounds good? This is what we have to offer you.

  • A key role with real impact in an international IT environment

  • High autonomy and ownership of a critical service

  • Flexible hours and 2 days of home working per week

  • Attractive salary package with company car and fringe benefits

  • A brand-new HQ office in Waregem

Alright, convinced you are the one?
